Welcome to the Order of the Gecko. This website is an online temple, home to people of all faiths who are seeking interfaith tolerance and education. We make no remarks on the validity of any one particular path, but rather encourage and endeavor to bring all paths together, for a common cause: the good of the communities around them, and the betterment of self.
Founded in 2003, the Order of the Gecko was an attempt by a diverse group of people to find common ground. All had a common love of the study of religion and philosophy, of history, and of intelligible, measured, and respectful debate. Since 2003, the Order of the Gecko has gone through many users, and many redesigns, but the principles and ideals have remained the same.
The Order of the Gecko persists under several principles. That it be a place for anyone to learn of other religions and philosophies without bias or a need for conversion. That it be a place where people who claim the title of teacher act respectfully and honestly within our community. That it become a place of formal instruction for those who seek the wisdom of various faiths and practices. That its members cause a positive impact upon the world in which we live. And that its members seek to find practical applications of spiritual truths in their everyday lives.
